Pope Francis marks anniversary of Polish Catholic weekly

(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis on Wednesday welcomed the staff, readers and friends of the Polish Catholic weekly magazine Niedziela [Sunday], which is marking its 90th anniversary.

A pilgrimage group was at the Wednesday General Audience, and the Holy Father addressed them during his greetings to Polish pilgrims.

“Even today the publication is a great gift of Divine Providence to your nation, and in this magazine one can continue to find an accurate transmission of information on the Church and, and a support in the difficult moments of your history” – Pope Francis said – “I hope that the service of evangelization done by this weekly, will continue to confirm the faith of its readers, and produce abundant fruit in life and in their apostolate.”

The Pope ended his remarks by blessing the magazine’s editorial staff, and “in the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy” entrusted them to “the Merciful Jesus and his Blessed Mother, Queen of Poland.”
