From Burma to Rome

(Vatican Radio) “From Burma to Rome: A journey into the Catholic Church”, is the faith story of Benedict Rogers, the widely respected British human rights advocate and author.

His new book reveals how over many years his work with the charity Christian Solidarity Worldwide brought him into contact with Catholics around the world - but especially in Burma - who, whilst persecuted for their faith, refused to relinquish it.

Inspired by their witness, he sought further insight into the faith and teaching of the Catholic Church, and encouraged by friends such as Cardinal Bo of Rangoon, and Lord David Alton, discovered for himself that, “a faith worth dying for, might be a faith worth living for”.

He talks here to Phil Andrews about those who have influenced him in his journey, and also his hopes for peace and democracy in his beloved Burma.

“From Burma to Rome: A Journey into the Catholic Church”, is published by Gracewing, and is available from Amazon.
