Trump, Clinton claim Super Tuesday victory

(Vatican Radio) Republican Donald Trump and democrat Hillary Clinton are one step closer to becoming president of the United States after sweeping wins on Super Tuesday, the country’s biggest day of primary elections.

Trump and Clinton won the majority as voters from nearly a dozen US States voted for their respective parties during the 1 March primaries.

Former first lady and US Secretary of State, Clinton beat out her main rival among the democratic candidates, Bernie Sanders, despite focusing much of her attacks and attention on Trump.

Meanwhile, the billionaire mogul Trump won the majority over his two main rivals in the republican party, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.

The two candidates to win the primaries for the republican and democrat parties become the main contenders for the nation’s presidential election on 8 Nov.
