Pope Francis’ friend: Argentinian Rabbi Skorka

(Vatican Radio) Among the guests at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia was a close personal friend of Pope Francis, Rabbi Abraham Skorka of Buenos Aires, who is a leading theologian in the Latin American community. He was the keynote speaker at the unveiling of a statue at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia at whose seminary Pope Francis will be staying while in the city this weekend. The new statue marks the upcoming 50th anniversary of the landmark 2nd Vatican Council document, Nostra Aetate, that transformed Catholic-Jewish relations. Rabbi Skorka spoke to Clara Dorfman for Vatican Radio about the World Meeting of Families and the symbolism of this new statue created by Joshua Koffman.
