Trinity Sunday: a musical meditation


(Vatican Radio) Monsignor Philip Whitmore meditates on a fine hymn in honour of the Blessed Trinity. The words of this hymn come from a dramatic poem by Blessed John Henry Newman.

There are several different tunes for Newman's hymn 'Firmly I believe and Truly', says Monsignor Whitmore, but probably the one best known to Catholic congregations is an old German tune called 'Omni Die' .
