Jesuit priest Fr Alexis Prem Kumar from southern ‎India’s Tamil Nadu state, was kidnapped by ‎unknown gunmen last June 2, near Herat in ‎western Afghanistan, while visiting a school for ‎returnee ‎refugees run by the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS).   After over 8 months of ‎captivity, the priest was ‎released on Feb. 22 and is back home.  On the occasion of Easter, the 47-year old priest reflected on his ‎‎263-day imprisonment, saying it was his participation in the Passion of Christ, and now he is living his ‎Easter freedom.  ‎
