(Vatican Radio) Kenyan warplanes bombed militant camps in Somalia, responding to a massacre of college students by al-Shabab extremists.
148 people were killed, most of them students, when the extremist group attacked Garissa University College in northeastern Kenya.
Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta has vowed to respond ``in the fiercest way possible'' to the massacre.
Al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was in reprisal for Kenya sending troops into Somalia in 2011 to kill its members who took part in cross-border raids and kidnappings.
