Cardinal Filoni visiting Vietnam


The head of the Vatican’s office in-charge of the Catholic Church’s missions around the world on Monday left for a weeklong trip to Vietnam where he will visit 4 dioceses and the national Marian shrine.   Italian Cardinal Fernando Filoni, the prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples will reach Hanoi on Tuesday, where he is scheduled to meet the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam,  hold a meeting with the priests of Hanoi Archdiocese and celebrate Mass in the cathedral.   On Thursday he will celebrate Mass at the Marian shrine of La Vang and hold a meeting with priests, religious and the laity.  Friday, he will mark the 4th centenary of the evangelization of Da Nang with a Mass at the pastoral centre of Da Nang Diocese. Cardinal Filoni will then proceed to Xuan Loc where he will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the diocese with a Mass in the cathedral.   He will fly back to Rome on Sunday after a Mass in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon.
