Protestors in Mexico demand justice for missing teachers

(Vatican Radio) Thousands of people have been marching through Mexico City, demanding justice for the 43 student teachers who were handed over to gangsters in Southern Mexico by municipal police after a rally on September 26th.

James Blears was at this protest in the Capitol, led by the families of the missing.

This latest protest brought downtown Mexico City to a standstill for hours as thousands marched from the Angel of Independence to the main Zocalo Plaza. Some had Mexican flags but instead of green, white, and red, these were a stark black and white. There were also horsemen carrying machetes.

Student Rodrigo says justice will finally prevail. “I think that justice has already passed away, because, nobody can find them, no? But of course, I think that just always comes, every time, maybe later, but ustice always comes to its place.”

The remains of the 43 have yet to be found.
