Cardinal James Stafford speaks about All Saints Day and All Souls Day


(Vatican Radio) November is traditionally a month for remembering the dead in the Catholic Church.  November 1st is All Saints Day, and November 2nd is All Soul’s Day.  Throughout the Catholic world, families and friends visit the faithful departed in cemeteries, and have Masses said for those who have died.

Cardinal James Francis Stafford served as Major Penitentiary of the Apostolic Penitentiary from 2003 until his retirement in 2009. He spoke to Vatican Radio about how the Church traditionally remembers the dead in November.
