(Vatican Radio) Russia says it plans to recognize upcoming parliamentary elections held by pro-Russian seperatists in eastern Ukraine. The announcement was expected to add to tensions with the West and came while a variety of parliamentarians prepare to take their seats following Ukraine's general elections last Sunday. The Nov. 2 vote follows Ukrainian national elections last Sunday, in which pro-Western parties interested in preserving national integrity and reaching a negotiated settlement to the ongoing conflict gained significant victories.
