Saint Ambrose: animals as marvels of God's creation

(Vatican Radio)  As our popular 'Latin Lover' Carmelite Father Reginald Foster tells us Saint Ambrose, who  had a particular love for animals, once wrote a commentary in Latin on the Book of Genesis, by the title of 'Hexameron', or six days of Creation. The Bishop’s intention, says Father Foster, was to highlight the marvels of God’s creation.

In this feature you can also hear how the Latin of Saint Ambrose compares to that of Saints Augustine and Jerome.
