34 people die in Guinea after a rap concert to mark end of Ramadan

34 people have died in Guinea -Conakry following a stampede at a rap concert on the beach in the capital city, Tuesday night. Many others were injured. The tragedy happened as thousands of mainly young people were leaving the concert through a single outlet on the beach. 

AFP and eye witnesses spoke of  young people who includied small children, gathered to celebrate the end of the Moslem feast of Ramadan. A popular rap group, Instinct Killers, together with other groups had been on stage. At the end of the concert, in the process of leaving the event, people fell down and they were trampled upon.

The President, Alpha Conde has declared a week of national mourning and said there would be an investigation.
