Malaysia jet search to use underwater drone

(Vatican Radio) Search crews in the ongoing search for the Malaysia Airlines jet, which went missing last month in the Indian Ocean with 239 people on board, launched a new phase in the search operation on Monday, which includes the use of a United States Navy underwater drone.

Searchers have made recourse to the drone, called Bluefin-21, as they believe batteries in the plane’s black box recorders have probably died and there is little chance of finding floating debris.

At a press conference, search chief Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston explained how the Bluefin-21 drone technology will be used to help find some of the answers for flight MH370.
