Vatican Radio’s digitalization of its sound archives containing the Popes’ voices
(Vatican Radio) Vatican Radio says it has completed the digitalization of thousands
of audio recordings featuring the voices of all the Pontiffs from Pius XI to Pope
Francis. Entitled “the Voice of the Popes”, the digital archive containing these recordings
will be officially unveiled at a news conference on Tuesday April 1st at
the Radio’s headquarters. The digitalization of these audio recordings will help
preserve them better for posterity and also enables them to be archived in a far more
efficient and stream-lined fashion.
