(Vatican Radio) The selfless and courageous work of women in the Church will be celebrated
here in the Vatican tomorrow, March 8th, for International Women’s Day.
The Pontifical Council for Social Communications and the Fidel Gotz Foundation are
co-sponsoring the event.
Ten women from all walks of life will tell inspiring
stories of their positive impact in the world. Speakers include Lebanese peace crusader
Jocelyne Khoueiry; Maltese human rights lawyer Katrine Camilleri; and Eritrean Comboni
Sister Azezet Kidane, who works among victims of human trafficking. Their testimonies
will also be live-streamed at www.voicesoffaith.org
Chantal Gotz of the Fidel
Gotz Foundation said the event picks up on Pope Francis’ desire for women to play
a more incisive role in the Church.
