Women's Day at the Vatican

(Vatican Radio) The selfless and courageous work of women in the Church will be celebrated here in the Vatican tomorrow, March 8^th, for International Women’s Day. The Pontifical Council for Social Communications and the Fidel Gotz Foundation are co-sponsoring the event.

Ten women from all walks of life will tell inspiring stories of their positive impact in the world. Speakers include Lebanese peace crusader Jocelyne Khoueiry; Maltese human rights lawyer Katrine Camilleri; and Eritrean Comboni Sister Azezet Kidane, who works among victims of human trafficking. Their testimonies will also be live-streamed at www.voicesoffaith.org

Chantal Gotz of the Fidel Gotz Foundation said the event picks up on Pope Francis’ desire for women to play a more incisive role in the Church.
