Irish conference looks at challenges facing migrants
(Vatican Radio) A one day conference was held in Dublin, Ireland Wednesday looking
at the challenges facing migrants in an Irish, European and global context. The gathering
was in celebration of the ten-year anniversary of the Pontifical Instruction Erga
Migrantes Caritas Christi (The love of Christ towards Migrants). The event was
hosted by the Emigrants and Immigrants Councils of the Irish Bishops’ Conference and
included workshops focusing on human trafficking, and the politics of undocumented
migration. Speakers included Archbishop Diarmiud Martin, Archbishop of Dublin. Lydia
O’Kane spoke to one of the conference participants and a member of the Board for the
