Pope’s tweet assures sick the closeness of Christ

February 17, 2014 - Pope Francis posted a message on the social media on Monday encouraging the sick Christ is close to them in their suffering. “To all who are sick, do not lose hope, especially when your suffering is at its worst. Christ is near you,” the Pope wrote on his Twitter account @pontifex. The Argentine Pope has been trying live this closeness of Christ with the sick and infirm in a tangible way, which is evident during his weekly general audiences on Wednesdays, where he patiently meets all the sick, mostly on wheelchairs. Sunday evening, during a visit to a Rome parish, among the various groups he met, among other the sick of the parish.
