Vatican City, 27 January 2014: In a post on the social media on Monday, Pope Francis
invited young people to go beyond mediocre life. The Pontiff wrote on his Twitter
account @pontifex: “Dear young people, let us not be satisfied with a mediocre
life. Be amazed by what is true and beautiful, what is of God!”
Pope Francis
has often spoken to the young people since he was elected Pontiff in March last year.
He wrote on 4 January 2014: Dear young people, Jesus wants to be your friend,
and wants you to spread the joy of this friendship everywhere. Again on 77 December
2013, the Pope wrote: Dear young people, put your talents at the service of the
Gospel, with creativity and boundless charity. Earlier, on 15 November 2013, Pope
Francis invited the young to be missionaries. He wrote: Dear young people, always
be missionaries of the Gospel, every day and in every place.
The Pope has
now close to 11 million followers on his Twitter account @Pontifex. And the re-tweeting
of Pope’s message is reported to be reaching at least 60 million people. The Pope’s
English-language handle alone has over 3 million followers. The papal tweets are published
in nine languages on the micro-blogging website. Source: VR Sedoc
