Michael Gannon interviews the Head of VR's English Section

(Vatican Radio) Vatican Radio's English Programme has an intern this month. His name is Michael Gannon. Michael is a student in the National University of Ireland, Maynooth.

He has a wide range of interests including writing and reporting. He is also a member of the Adult Advisory Committe of Down Syndrome Ireland.

Michael's two-week internship at Vatican Radio will earn him credits for his "ILI" degree at Maynooth.

At the start of his internship here, he interviewed the English Section's Head of Programme:

This is Michael Gannon here and today I will be interviewing Sean Patrick Lovett.

He is the director of the English Section of Vatican Radio and director of communications at a Pontifical University in Rome.

He has also received from Dayton University; USA, the Daniel J. Kane Award in 2013 for his contribution to religious communication.

I asked him questions about himself, about when he started working at Vatican Radio and also about what he does...

I asked him about his name and where it came from, about his origins and about the work he has done here at the Radio since he first started.

I asked him about the Daniel J. Kane Award, what it means to him and why he won it.

The other questions I put to him were:

What do you think God is really like?

How many Popes have you worked for?

Do you pray?...
