Robots to patrol Mexican borders

(Vatican) The US Border Patrol Agency, helped by Mexican counterparts, are launching a specially designed new robot to patrol the forbidden zone of cross Border tunnels with the aim of combatting Mexican organized crime.
More than 70 clandestine tunnels stretching from Mexico into Arizona and California, have been located by Mexican and US Authorities since 2008. Now, purpose-designed robots will boldly go into black holes, where few law abiding earth men have ventured. Their mission is to detect illegal aliens, narcotics, clusters of weapons and wads of ill- gotten cash, by monitoring movement and unauthorized spaces. They are then programmed to relay coordinates up to the surface.
It is another innovative way to combat Mexico's Drug War which is in its eighth year. The drug cartel generated violence has claimed more than 70,000 lives.
