Sistine Chapel: a powerful St.Peter
(Vatican Radio) On Sunday 12th of January the Sistine Chapel will resound with the
sound of gurgling and crying babies as Pope Francis baptises a number of them within
this exceptional setting in the heart of the Vatican . It’s here in this same setting, with the backdrop of Michelangelo’s ‘Last Judgement' masterful fresco that Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected back on the 13th of March 2013 as Successor of Peter.
In a few moments our Professor of Fine Arts, Breda Ennis will be commenting on this fresco, zooming in on the figure of Saint Peter as envisaged by this famous artist.
