Pope Francis to Celebrate Eucharist with Jesuits on January 3
Vatican City, 31 December 2013: Pope Francis will visit the Church of the Gesù in
Rome to celebrate Mass on 3rd January, the titular feast of the Society
of Jesus. According to the announcement made by Fr. Frederico Lombardi, spokesperson
of the Holy See, the Pope will concelebrate the Holy Mass at 9 a. m. with his fellow
Jesuit brothers in Rome. This will also be an occasion for thanksgiving for the entry
of Blessed Peter Faber into the list of the company of Saints, which took place on
17 December. Fr. Lombardi also said that the Holy Father, while conversing with Fr.
General Adolfo Nicolas SJ, Superior General of the Jesuits, commented that he was
the first to pray to the new Saint at the moment in which he signed the decree of
