Pope sends blessing to new centre for abused children
December 09, 2013 - Pope Francis has sent his blessing and encouragement to a new
centre for abused children inaugurated on Sunday in Italy. The Meter Association
founded in Italy in 1986 by Fr. Fortunato di Noto, runs Casa Meter or Meter Homes
for children who are victims of sex, violence and exploitation. Vatican Secretary
of State Pietro Parolin sent the message on the Pope’s behalf for the inauguration
of Casa Meter in Avola saying the Holy Father was sending his cordial greetings and
encouraging them on the selfless dedication in the service of the little ones, imbued
with genuine feelings of genuine charity and love of neighbour. The Pope asked Meter
to pray for him, invoking the heavenly protection of the Virgin Mary. The Holy Father
bestowed his blessing on Fr. Fortunato Di Noto, the Meter Association and the children
and their families.
