Holiness means doing ordinary things with love and faith: Pope
Vatican City, 5 December 2013: In a post on the social media on Thursday, Pope Francis
reminded the faithful worldwide that holiness is not doing extraordinary things. The
Pontiff wrote on his Twitter account @pontifex: “Holiness doesn’t mean doing extraordinary
things, but doing ordinary things with love and faith”.
Earlier on 21
November the Pontiff reflected on a similar theme and wrote: ‘to be saints is not
a privilege of the few, but a vocation for everyone’. And two days earlier on 19 November
Pope Francis wrote: “The saints were not superhuman. They were people who loved God
in their hearts, and who shared this joy with others.”
The Pope now has more
than 9 million followers on his Twitter account @Pontifex. The Pope’s English-language
handle alone has over 2.8 million followers. The papal tweets are published in nine
languages on the micro-blogging website. Source: VR Sedoc
