December 02, 2013 - Pope Francis on Sunday expressed his and the Church’s closeness
with victims of HIV/AIDS and appealed that those affected by the disease may have
access to the care they need. “We express our solidarity with the people affected
by HIV/Aids, especially children, and we express our closeness to the many missionaries
and health workers who work in silence,” the Pope said on Dec. 1 World Aids Day, after
his weekly midday ‘Angelus’ prayer and blessing. “Let us pray for all of them, including
doctors and researchers. May every sick person, without exception, have access to
the care they need," the Pope added
