Pope's audiences cancelled because he's suffering from a cold
(Vatican Radio) The Vatican announced on Friday that all of Pope Francis’ scheduled
audiences in the morning were cancelled because he is suffering from a cold. In a
statement, the Director of the Holy See’s Press Office, Father Federico Lombardi,
explained that the Pope’s morning meetings were put off until a later date, given
that all of them were with cardinals and bishops of the Roman Curia. However, Father
Lombardi said the Pope would preside, as planned, over a Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica
on Friday afternoon during which he was due to ordain as Bishop, Monsignor Fernando
Vergez Alzaga, Secretary General of the Vatican City State’s Governing Body.
