November 04, 2013 - Pope Francis on Monday gratefully remembered all missionaries
around the world who work silently. “I thank all missionaries, men and women who quietly
work hard for the Lord and their brothers and sisters,” the Pope tweeted on his Twitter
handle @pontifex. The Pope’s message on the social media is a follow up of his
missionary prayer intention for the month of November which is for the Latin American
Churches, that they may send missionaries to other Churches as a fruit of the continental
mission. Also on Monday, the Vatican Secretariat of State posted a separate tweet
calling for the promotion of inclusion in the fight against hunger in the world.
“Hunger, like all forms of poverty, is caused by exclusion. Promoting inclusion helps
eliminate hunger,” was the tweet taken from a recent speech made by Indian Archbishop
Francis Chullikatt, the Holy See’s Apostolic Nuncio and Permanent Observer to the
United Nations in New York. (Source: Vatican)
