US Chaplains in Rome for patronal feast

(Vatican Radio) October 23rd is the feast of St John Capistrano: a Franciscan priest who preached to soldiers defending Christendom from invading Ottoman forces and became the patron of military chaplains. US military chaplains are gathered in Rome this week for courses in professional development and spiritual growth in the context of the Year of Faith. Vatican Radio spoke with Fr. James E. O’Neal, a major in the US Army currently serving as garrison chaplain at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. “We talk about different issues that are important to us,” he said, “particularly, as far as religious education is concerned.” Listen to Fr. James E. O’Neal’s extended remarks to Vatican Radio: RealAudioMP3
