Vatican to participate in celebration of European Heritage Days

25 Sept. 2013: The Vatican is participating in this year’s “European Heritage Days” by granting free entry to its famed museums on Sunday, 29 September, said a communiqué from the Vatican on Tuesday.
The theme of this year’s observance is “The images of the faith of Europe’s Heritage.” As in previous years .the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Culture and the Vatican Museums are collaborating in the organisation of the day’s program.
“European Heritage Days” is a joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, which has the membership of 50 states of the Continent. The aim of the initiative is to enhance and promote dialogue and exchange between European countries in the field of culture.
