Snowden leaks could be source of tension between US, Brazil
(Vatican Radio) Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff has cancelled an advance trip by
Brazilian officials, who were supposed to be laying the ground work for her State
Visit to Washington next month. Rousseff's much anticipated State trip to Washington
has not yet been offcially cancelled. One unnamed Brazilian Official says that
President Rousseff remains furious with revelations by ex CIA employee Edward Snowden,
that the National Security Agency snooped on her private e mails and correspondence,
and the same goes for her inner circle. That official says she's insisting upon an
official and very public apology, with an assurance this will never, ever happen again.
A US State Department Spokesman says the invitation for a State visit extended to
President Dilma Rousseff, shows the great value Washington puts upon a thriving relationship
with Brazil. However no sorry has surfaced yet. Listen to this report from correspondent
