South Korea's Archbishop will pray with the Pope for peace in Syria

04 Sept. 2013: In South Korea, Archbishop Andrew Yeom Soo-jung of Seoul on Wednesday called the people to accept Pope Francis’ invitation to fast and pray on Sat. Sept 7, for peace in Syria, the Middle East and around the world. The prelate told Asianews “the news coming from Syria is devastating and my heart bleeds especially for children who are victims of the conflict. The appeal of Pope Francis is a fundamental tool for world peace. Now more than ever, we Christians must stand together and pray."
The Archbishop of Seoul has also asked the people to join in the walking pilgrimage of "the Month of Martyrs" to pray for the critical situation in Syria. A notice regarding it was sent to every holy place and martyrs' shrine to put up reminders, so that people will remember to add Syria in their prayers during the pilgrimage. The Archbishop also called the "Bible Study for Youth," the biggest group for young people in Korea with about 300 thousand members, to pray especially for the peace in Syria.
