WYD: Alex and Katrina, volunteers in Rio ...

(Vatican Radio) Sean- Patrick Lovett brings us interviews with two of the young people attending the XXVIII World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The first is nineteen year old Alex Smith from Manchester in England who's attending World Youth Day for the second time in his life. He told Sean-Patrick Lovett how while in Madrid he came with a group of young people from his diocese, this time round he's chosen to come as a volunteer. Alex explains how different the experience is proving to be, for while this time he has stepped out of comfort zone, sleeping on a chuch floor rather than in a comfortable hotel bedroom, the end result is incredibly rewarding as the volunteering has put him in touch with young people from right across the world.

Another of the other young volunteers Sean Patrick Lovett spoke to is eighteen year old Katrina Gerona from Vancouver, Canada who explains what motivated her to come to Rio ..
