Global hour of Adoration Announced


Vatican City, 28 May 2013: The Year of Faith continues its fruitful journey and till date about 4,300,000 pilgrims participated in prayer, reflection and spiritual involvement. And on Tuesday morning, at a press conference in the John Paul II Hall of the Holy See Press Office, two more events of the Year of Faith were presented by Archbishop Rino Fisichella, and Archbishop José Octavio Ruiz Arenas, President and Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization.

The first one is the Eucharistic Adoration scheduled to take place in St Peter's Basilica on Sunday 2 June from 17.00 to 18.00 with the theme "One Lord, one faith," to witness the sense of profound unity that characterizes this event. It will be an event that takes place for the first time in the history of the Church. The cathedrals of the world for an hour will be synchronized on the time of Rome and be in communion with the Pope in the adoration of the Eucharist. This initiative that has extended beyond the cathedrals and involved entire conferences of bishops, parishes, religious congregations, cloistered monasteries, and associations.

A second event will take place on 15-16 June titled "Believing they might have life." This meeting is called Evangelium vitae to attest to all the great theme which revolves around the efforts of the Church on the promotion, respect and defense of the dignity of human life.
