$2 billion worth of damage cause by Oklahoma tornado

(Vatican Radio) It’s estimated that $2 billion worth of damage was caused by the tornado that hit Oklahoma on Monday. As many as 13,000 homes were damaged or destroyed and 33,000 people affected by the devastating twister. The number left homeless is still unknown because most of the displaced were believed to have been taken in by relatives.
“…Parishes, people are just reaching out to help as much as they can. It’s just so devastating… that one town (Moore) just wiped out,” says Chairman of the Communications Committee of the USCCB, Bishop John Wester of Salt Lake City.
Speaking to Lydia O’Kane he added, that in times of great tragedy such of this, the goodness and humanity of people comes to the fore. .Listen to Lydia O’Kane’s interview with Bishop John Wester. RealAudioMP3
