Vatican City, 27 April 2013: Pope Francis greeted the people of Tanzania on Friday
on the occasion of its Union Day. In his message addressed to Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete,
President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Pope Francis said: I send cordial greetings
to you and your fellow citizens on the happy occasion of Tanzania’s Union Day. At
the beginning of my Pontificate, I gladly commend the Republic to the Providence of
