Archbasilica of Saint John Lateran: Mother Church....

(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis took possession of his Cathedral on Sunday 7th of April.
A cathedral often referred to as the Mother of all Churches.

The Minister General of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, Father Jim Puglisi
explains why:"... it's the Mother Church because from its Baptistry.. all the Christians of this local Church were born...Now this is a little bit of a tricky interpretation. The reason I say this is because the Mother Church has always been referred to as Jerusalem..."
