March 19, 2013: Thousands of pilgrims gathered on Tuesday morning in Buenos Aires’
Plaza de Mayo outside the Cathedral to follow Pope Francis’ installation mass in Rome
were amazed to hear the Pope’s own voice addressing them over loudspeakers. Pope Francis
called the rector of the Cathedral of Buenos Aires, Father Alejandro Russo. The call
was amplified to allow the faithful gathered in the square to hear the message of
the Pope. Dear children!, he began, I know you are in the square. I know you are
praying, I need them. Then he asked them a favor. I ask you to walk together, taking
care of each other. Take care of your family, take care of children, take care of
the old, and that there is no hatred, no fights, no envy, among you, he said. We know
that we have a good Father who is God. May your heart grow more and more closer to
God, he wished. God is good, he always forgives, he understands, draw close to Him.
May the Virgin bless you much. Do not forget this bishop. Pray for me, he concluded.
