Two tweets from Third Loggia mark UN Human Rights session

(Vatican Radio) In the Vacant See while the twittersphere waits to see if and when the next Pope will reactivate the @pontifex account, the Vatican’s Secretary of State is tweeting news from the Apostolic Palace under the hashtag @Terzaloggia.

On Friday as the College of Cardinals gathered in the 7^th general congregation, the Secretary for relations with states, Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, took to social media to tweet: “The Holy See, in its diplomatic activity, is commited to the protection of the rights of the most vulnerable”.

While Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, the Holy See’s representative to the United Nations in Geneva also tweeted : “Respect for the religious freedom of minorities is the cornerstone of dialogue and cooperation”.

Both tweets fall within the context of the ongoing 22nd regular session of the Human Rights Council 25 February-22 March 2013.
