Benedict's prayers for the Church in Britain

(Vatican Radio) During the final days of Pope Benedict XVI’s pontificate, the head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, Archbishop Vincent Nichols, received a letter in which the pontiff emeritus thanks Catholics in England and Wales for their support and prayers following his decision to resign.
The letter, signed by Archbishop Giovanni Becciu, Substitute of the Vatican’s secretariat of state, also recalls the historic state visit the Pope made to the UK in September 2010 and says he promises to pray for Catholics in England and Wales.
Philippa Hitchen caught up with Archbishop Nichols following the Pope’s final general audience last week to hear more about the letter and about the way Benedict XVI will be remembered by Catholics in Britain….
