Delhi Chief Minister Bids Farewell to Archbishop Concessao
February 25, 2013 - In India, the Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory
of Delhi, hosted a programme on Sunday to thank retired Archbishop Vincent Concessao
of Delhi for the services he has rendered to the people of Delhi. Chief Minister Sheila
Dixit also welcomed the new Archbishop Anil Couto. In a programme organized by the
Commission for Minorities, Government of Delhi, Dixit acknowledged the great work
done by the Christians not only in Delhi but in every district of India. She thanked
Archbishop Concessao for his spiritual guidance and support. In reply Archbishop Concessao
said the Chief Minister of Delhi was always generous in granting the requests of
the Christian Community in Delhi. Archbishop Couto promised to continue the good
work and sought the cooperation from the government in building a peaceful and just
society. The programme was attended by leaders of various communities. AC Michael,
member of the Minority Commission was instrumental in organizing the event.
