Pope Benedict has sent his condolences to the relatives of those killed after the
explosion at Pemex headquarters in Mexico City, in which at least 33 people died.
Authorities are still search for answers into what caused the blast at the state oil
company. In a message sent on his behalf to the Archbishop of Mexico City, Cardinal
Norberto Rivera Carrera, the Holy Father expressed his deep sadness at the news, and
offered his prayers for the repose of those killed, as well as words of comfort to
those injured in the unfortunate event, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery.
