(Vatican Radio) Bolivian Authorities are accusing the US Embassy in Bolivia of fermenting
plots against the Government. Minister of the Presidency Juan Ramon Quintana insists
there's irrefutable proof that the US Emabassy in Bolivia's Capitol La Paz has been
working to damage the prestive and image of President Evo Morales with the avowed
aim of ousting him. He says a dossier of this damning and overwhelming evidence is
going to be presented to President Barak Obama, and he's demanding that the harrassment
stops immediatly. The US State Department denies any form of interference. US
Ambassador Philip Goldberg was expelled in 2008 for what Authorties termed conspiracy,
and then Washington retaliated by doing likewise with the Bolivian Ambassador. Then,
in that same year the Bolivian Goverment threw out the Drugs Enforcment Agency the
DEA. The bi-lateral relationship, which has been icy throughout the Presidency
of Evo Morales, looked to be slightly thawing, before this latest political broadside.
In November 2011 both countries signed an agreement to re-establish diplomatic
ties, but Ambassadors have yet to return. Listen to this report by James Blears
