Prefect for the Oriental Churches visits Iraq

December 13, 2012: Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches has started his five-day visit in Iraq on Thursday. He will be there until 17 December. The highlight among the various commitments of the Cardinal is the reopening of the Syrian Catholic Cathedral on Friday in the presence of civil authorities and the Patriarch Ignace Youssef III.
On Sunday, Cardinal Sandri will speak in Kirkuk's Chaldean Cathedral and then again on Monday 17 at the seminary in Erbil.
