CBCI gets new secretaries for education, labor


December 04, 2012: The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) has appointed new secretaries for its offices for education and labor. The appointments were made by the standing committee of the CBCI and were announced on Monday through a press release.

Salesian Father Joseph Manipadam will take over as the secretary of the office for education and culture, replacing Father Kuriala Chittattukalam who completed his term on Nov 30.
Father Manipadam is currently serving as the rector and principal of Don Bosco School in Siliguri, West Bengal.

Father Jaison Vadassery of the archdiocese Verapoly, has been appointed as the secretary for the CBCI office for labor. Father Vadassery is currently the director of Kerala Labor Movement and will replace Father Jose Vattakuzhy next year, when the latter completes his term.Archbishop Albert D’Souza, the CBCI secretary general, expressed deep appreciation for the services of the two outgoing secretaries.
