Proclaim, Celebrate and Serve the Gospel of life: Archbp. Zimowski
November 17, 2012: Proclaim, Celebrate and Serve the Gospel of life, exhorted Archbishop
Zygmunt Zimowski to Health care workers on Saturday at the Vatican. He was celebrating
the Mass for the participants of the 27th International Conference of the
Council and the 25th Congress of the Association of Italian Catholic Doctors
and the European Federation of Catholic Medical Associations. The Europe of today,
that suffers from a profound crisis of values, is in desperate need of your testimony.
You must be defenders, servants and preachers of the culture of life against the culture
of death that wants to dominate Europe, said the Archbishop.
"Europe, back
yourself. Be yourself. Rediscover your origins. Liven up your roots. Do not be afraid!
The Gospel is not against you, but it is in your favor. Be confident! In the Gospel,
Jesus, you will find the sure and lasting hope to which you aspire. Be sure! The Gospel
of hope does not disappoint!, said the Archbishop citing Blessed John Paul II’s Post-Synodal
Apostolic Exhortation Ecclesia in Europa.
‘You are not only recipients of the
proclamation of the Gospel message, but you are, in your own right, even announcers,
by virtue of your Baptism. You must then proclaim the Gospel of hope for Europe, serving
the sick and the suffering; You have to celebrate the Gospel of hope by participating
in Holy Mass every Sunday. You have to serve the Gospel of hope in your workplace,
defending the dignity of human life’ added Archbishop Zimowski. The Congress of
Catholic doctors in Europe and Italy has as its theme: Bioethics and Christian Europe,
which will end on Sunday.
