New US drug law raises concerns in Mexico

The most senior member of Mexico's President Elect's transitional team is warning there must be a review of cross Border security, due to changing laws in certain US States.

Team Leader Luis Videgaray says that legislation permitting the recreational use of marijuana in the States of Washington and Colorado, presents a serious law and order conflict for Mexico, which itself completely outlaws the drug nationwide. He is describing this development as an unforeseen element. He also explains that this obliges the new Presidency of Enrique Peña Nieto, to re-focus on the bi-lateral relationship concerning shared security. Enrique Peña Nieto, who won Mexico's July Presidential Election is due to be inaugurated on December 1st.
