(Vatican Radio) Americans are deciding Tuesday who to choose as the next President
of the United States. At least 120 million Americans were expected to vote on giving
Barak Obama a second term or replacing him with Mitt Romney. National opinion polls
show both contenders for the White House in a virtual dead heat. Professor of International
Relations at the American University of Rome, James Walston spoke to Lydia O’Kane
about the key issues of this election.
“The most important thing for almost
all Americans is the economy who is going to get America going again and who is going
to get people employed again.”
Speaking on the subject of the undecided American
voter Professor Walston says the most important thing to Obama and Romney is “getting
the vote out”… so what they have to do is to make sure to people who are sympathetic
towards my side (Romney/Obama) go out and vote for me.”
Mitt Romney was scheduled
to vote at his home in Massachusetts.
Barack Obama, who voted in October,
is spending Tuesday at his home in Chicago. Listen to Lydia O'Kane's interview
