(Vatican Radio) Tuesday November the 6th is the day when Americans decide whom they
want as president, the incumbent Barack Obama or the Republican challenger Mitt Romney.
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has urged Catholics to cast their
vote in Tuesday's election, saying responsible citizenship is a virtue and participation
in political life is a moral obligation.
Kathy Saile is Director of Domestic
Social Development at the USCCB and she spoke to Vatican Radio's Susy Hodges about
the presidential election, the mood of the nation and some of the key issues at stake.
Saile
says the U.S. bishops are urging Catholics "to bring their faith to the ballot box
and not just their own partisan interests."
