Catholic Health Association of India to hold annual meeting next month
October 30, 2012: Around 800 people are expected to take part in the 69th
Annual General Body Meeting of the Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI) next
month. The two-day program, starting from Nov. 22, would be held at Cardinal Parecattil
Memorial Renewal Centre in Kochi, in the Southern Indian state of Kerala. The meeting
would be based on the theme “Rolling out CHAI Health Insurance Program, Solar Energy
and other Initiatives.” The program would start with a Mass presided over by Archbishop
Vincent Concessao of Delhi, who is also the ecclesiastical advisor to CHAI. The prelate
would release a Herbal Calendar as well as yearly diary for 2013. The golden jubilee
celebration of the Catholic Health Association of Kerala will be held on Nov. 22 where
state chief minister Oommen Chandy is expected to be the Chief Guest.
There
will be a special session on the “Present Trends in HIVD/AIDS Care, Support and Treatment”
by Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Vitillo, head of delegation, Caritas Internationalis, Geneva.
The event would also include a scientific session on meeting’s theme, felicitations
and cultural program. Bishop Joseph Karikassery of Kottapuram will present CHAI
Award for Lifetime Achievement to Sr Jude. Auxiliary Bishop Philipos Mar Stephanos
Tiruvalla archdiocese will give away prizes to the winners of National Essay Competition
2012.
